Clothes Dryer

The electric clothes dryer is one of the most expensive appliances in your home to use because, regardless of the type of dryer, the unit is still accomplishing the expensive process of creating heat. For that reason the best way to save money drying clothes is to be frugal about the amount of time your laundry is actually dried by the machine. Several methods can be used. The easiest is to put a clothing rod close to the dryer and stock it with plastic hangers. Clothing can be dried for a short period of time to remove wrinkles and then pulled out of the dryer and hung to finish drying. The bonus to using this method is longer fabric life, less shrinkage, and less static electricity. Newer machines are more efficient than older models and many come with a sensor that automatically turns the machine off when the load is dry.
